Q. Do I have to pay a deposit for water, sewer and gas?

Yes, renters and homeowners must pay a deposit and homeowners must have the deed to the property. For renters, they must have a rental inspection done before a deposit can be made.

Q. Is my deposit refundable?

A. Yes, but it may be used to pay the final bill at the location.

Q. Is my deposit transferable?

A. Yes, only if the final bill at the old address is paid and then there is a $20 service fee.

Q. When are my utility bills due?

A. Payment is due by the 10th of each month. Payments received after the 10th are subject to a 3% penalty on water, sewer and gas. Bills not paid by the 20th of the month are subject to a loss of the services and a $35 reconnection fee.

Q. Is there anything I can do to equal out my utility payments?

A. Homeowners may apply for the City utility budget plan.
An agreement must be signed and approved by the City Manager before June 30th for a one year period. Payments are based on an average 12 months usage. This keeps the bill level until the last month. At that time the homeowner would have to pay any balance due or receive credit for over payment.

Q. Can I pay by bank draft?

A. Yes, see the utility clerk to fill out the appropriate paperwork.

Q. Can I pay by Credit or Debit Card?

A. Yes. We now take Visa and Master Card.

Q. Can utilies be cut off?

A. Yes, all bills must be paid by the 20th at 4 p.m. each month or they are subjected to be cut off. Cut Off Day is the 21st of each month.

Reconnect Fees:

- $35 If cut off in the City Limits

- $40 If cut off in the water district

Q. When is garbage pickup?

A. Tuesdays

Q. Who should I call if I have a problem with my garbage service?

Q. When are special pick days?

A. It begins on the second and fourth Mondays and continues till all the streets are covered.
