Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Fulton Hook & Ladder Fire Department to preserve life and property, promote public safety and promote growth through leadership, education, management and actions, as a fire and rescue response provider in the City of Fulton, Kentucky.

Vision Statement

The Department will focus its efforts on responding rapidly to emergencies, providing appropriate interventions and use of resources in the City of Fulton, Kentucky.

Today the Fulton Hook & Ladder Fire Department is a combination department consisting of a career Chief. The department has 32 paid on call members. It responds to about 160 calls annually, covering 2,775 people, 1,225 households, and 753 families across 2.8 square miles. The Fire Department currently hold an ISO 2 rating.

Automatic mutual aid exists with the City of South Fulton, TN for structure fires.

  • Fire Prevention & Pre-Planning Inspection
  • Code Enforcement
  • Fire Safety & Education

What if no one answered the call infographic?

Fulton Fire Department was recently evaluated by ISO. We are pleased to announce that after this evaluation, we have improved our ISO PPC rating from a 3/3x to a 2/2x classification. Kentucky has approximately 30 ISO Class 2 fire departments out of more than 800 statewide, and we are proud to be among the 4%.
This comes after many years of improvements being made to Fulton Fire Department. Just to list a few of the many improvements that have been made over the last 5 years we have:
-Increased Membership.
-Implemented Automatic mutual aid for all Structure Fire responses.
-Improved our training program.
-Improved our Community Risk Reduction (CRR) program to include fire preplans, fire investigations, and public education.
-MANY improvements to our apparatus and equipment
ISO evaluates a department on a plethora of items when determining a PPC rating.
Fire Department operations: staffing, apparatus, equipment, training, and deployment models.
Communications & Dispatch: How quickly our calls are processed, GIS systems, CAD systems, and dispatch circuits.
Water Supply: Available water supply, hydrants, frequency of flushing and inspection of hydrants.
This new rating will take effect June of 2026, please be sure to check with your insurance provider and make them aware of this change as it could improve your insurance premiums!!
